Not the Way It Should Be

::There's a comfy couch out in the middle of the Nexus, and Schuldig's sitting there smoking on it. A mysterious couch in the middle of nowhere is so him he has to use it.::

::He's looking inward, not outward, and stubbing out his finished cigarettes in the big mouth of the goofy frog ashtray he has perched on one couch arm. If he's smoking, there are generally three possibilities:
1] He's with a smoker.
2] He's annoying a non-smoker.
3] He's stressed.

There's nobody sitting with him.::

Aya opens her backpack and takes out a tin with cookies inside: oatmeal, peanut butter, and double chocolate chip. She puts the tin on couch between them.

She bleeds worry at him.

"I'd make cookies for you whenever you like. I like seeing you happy."

Anything else is just wrong.

::Chocolate chip is a definite. Mmmm.::

Everybody should like that. It wasn't so much unhappy as kind of thoughtful in a vaguely ansgty way. I don't have the stamina to angst for very long, especially not when cookies are involved.

"Will you tell me what's making you thoughtful in a vaguely angsty way? Or we could talk about the weather some more."

She would even be willing to sit quietly and pet his hair, if that would make him feel better.

You can always pet my hair. You don't even have to ask!

Brad's jealous of my Nexus Schwarz family and my time here, but he can't quite admit to himself he's jealous or feeling a little not-enough-for-me so instead he's all stormy within himself and I keep vaguely picking up on it. He really does love me as best he can, which only makes it harder for him.

She tries not think anything bad about Brad, since that seemed to upset Schuldig last time.

"My mom and dad used to say that time apart and separate interests were good for couples, and they were very happy together."

::Nice try. Schu appreciates the effort. Some people he just doesn't like to hear bad-talking Brad for some reason.::

It's kind of a necessity for us. We have some stuff in common but our interests and personalities are way different. Gives us things to tell each other at least. ::smiles:: Rarely gets boring.
