Hello, have a Mio. She even comes bearing cake!

"Hello, Bad Ass-sensei." She politely stands outside the 'boundary' of Schu's living room set-up, waiting to be asked in.

((Note: Schu will notice that Mio is currently sporting a black eye and has some residual swelling in one cheek. She's tried to cover it up with make-up, but there's really only so much you can do to hide such things.))

Mio politely offers the cake box to Schuldig. Inside is a cake from a bakery close to Mio's place. Mio hopes it will be a large enough gift, since this is meant as both a visiting gift and a thank you gift for Schu's help with the job search.

Mio wants cake, but she is torn on whether or not to signal her interest right away. She would usually politely refuse, with both parties understanding that the refusal was just for politeness' sake and meant nothing of the sort. On the other hand, Bad Ass-sensei was clearly not Japanese, so he probably wouldn't expect the intricacies of the Japanese gift-giving ritual and might accidentally interpret her polite refusal as an actual refusal. Well, best to be on the safe side (that is, the option that resulted in cake).

Mio walks over to a chair and sits down. "I would like some water, please."

"Medium, please." Mio would usually go for a small piece, but she's been abnormally hungry today for some reason.

::Hunger is hunger. Schu might wonder sometimes about the reasons of his own but usually indulges it if it's not obviously someone else's he's picking up on..::

::He cuts a medium piece for Mio and hands the plate to her with a fork, then takes a similarly sized piece for himself. He can always have more later; it's his cake. He's already set her bottled water and cup on the end table closest to her.::

Mio takes a bite of the cake. Mmm, delicious cake. Definitely a good choice to go with this one over the chocolate one.

Mio finishes up the rest of her slice of cake in short order. Mmm, that really was some delicious cake. It was on par with some cakes that Mio had had that had cost more than twice as much!

Mio sips her water and waits for Schu to finish. She doesn't want to mix srs bzns with cake. It's impolite to the cake.

::Although he can tell she has business waiting for him, he doesn't speed up. Delicious cake must be respected. But it's a show of deference that he doesn't slow down either. Once he finishes his piece he takes a drink, wipes his mouth, closes the box, sets it within the endless space of his mini fridge, then faces Mio expectantly, curious to hear what's on her mind..::

"He seems quite young to have started his own company." Due to his looks, Mio is convinced that Naoe-shacho is younger than her. Mio is also not mentioning that she is surprised Naoe-shacho hired her, considering she nearly got into a fight with him the first time they met.

Mio makes a noncommittal noise, then pauses slightly before asking her question.

"I am sorry to change the subject, but I have been wondering about something strange Naoe-shacho said to me last night. Would you know what he means when he said I had powers?"

Sure. I've noticed that you can project emotions. You may be able to do more with it if you develop better control.

Normal people generally can't hear it unless you're deliberately sending it at them. I presume you weren't doing it on purpose. Folks generally don't like to have other people's emotions pushed into them.

If Nagi told you it happened, it happened. He has some trained telepathy of his own. I also add my voice to the chorus of "Hell yes, it happened, honey." I've noticed it myself.

You might do well to give him some time so you can find out. The kid has a lot on his plate. He's doing you a favor letting you know about. Some less scrupulous types would say nothing as you kept transmitting. There are people who would take advantage of knowing what you're feeling.
