I had a kind of funeral for Farfarello yesterday, and my head still hurts from the telepathic work involved. Ambition has its price, but when I throw an event it has to be special.

Now I know who killed him and nearly got me and Brad killed as well: cursed_bird. It's not simply a psycho ex thing because he's threatening people in Nagi's life too. I'm putting together ideas on how to put a stop to this bullshit but asked the Nexus to see if anyone there had some nasty cool things to add. Most of them didn't, but some of it may help.

Brad's still pissed that someone I met in the Nexus is trying to destroy our team. Then he had the gall to be surprised for a few minutes that I didn't want to move back in with him or let him move in with me. I'm not gonna forget all the stuff he let happen before. He got the picture fairly quickly, though. I guess you can teach an old Brad new tricks. Or he realized anew that I'm all he has left of Schwarz so he should give me more respect and space.

So I'm depressed and angry. And headthrobby. Broken mind links take time to heal.

"Did you eat recently?" If Schu doesn't know that big stunts mean he needs big meals then he fails.

Big dinner. Veal, two veggie dishes, a big pretzel, beer, and a large piece of chocolate cake. My mourning requires a large calorie intake.

"How long ago?" Nagi isn't fussing. He's just making sure that Schu is... minimizing the chances of projecting pain and suffering. Yeah. It's all self-interest. Nagi isn't worried at all, and has no urges to feed Schu and then snuggle him to sleep. Nope, no urges at all.

Nagi stuffs his hands in his pockets. "I think I figured out how to make omelettes. If I didn't, you'd end up with scrambled eggs with stuff in them. So, y'know, if you're hungry again, I could test my cooking on you." Actually, Nagi perfected omelettes a week ago, but he'd love some praise for his cooking.

Omelettes? I'm hungry and would like to know more. Are they just eggs or do you add things to them?

"Of course you add things to them. They're omelettes, aren't they?" Duh.

Nagi pulls his PINpoint out. "I'll even be nice and let you pick your filling."

"Won't survive much longer if you insult my intellegence," Nagi mutters. "Like I don't know what an omelette is."

He still PINpoints them to his apartment, though. And it's time to see what's in Nagi's fridge. Only four kinds of cheese to choose from today, but lots of different meats and veggies. "So what'd'ya want?"

Wow, grating cheese is really interesting! Nagi's gonna look at that. "Seems logical that your brains'll heal better if the rest of your links are being normal."

On the other cutting board, a knife moves to chop the other stuff. "So what's the deal between you and Crawford?"

I don't know because he doesn't know. It really bothers him that someone struck Schwarz like this. It really bothers him that he lost a member. It really bothers him that my visits to the Nexus brought this Farfarello down on his head. Once he stops being really bothered about so damned many things I'll know what our deal is.

I'm not going to just fall back into place on how thing were pre-Farfarello. Brad has to prove himself to me.

As for Nexus Farf.... For a while I thought it might be cool to have someone take out my problems for me, but I'm so over that. Nobody but me gets to decide who lives and who dies in my life. And the fact that he took a chance on killing me in that explosion makes me even angrier. Even when we were together and happy, it always seemed like he wanted me to jettison everybody in my reality out of my life.

Schu said enough that Nagi's got the frying pan heated already and is starting to pour in the eggs for the first omelette. "You wanted me to do that, too. Sometimes I wonder if I had agreed, if it would have worked out. I dunno if it could have. I need my world. So I understand that."

"Could you compromise with Crawford? Maybe the same building if he gets his head out of his ass? I don't think it's helping you to make him be so far away when you need to heal."

It's past. We won't know.

I dunno. If we're in one building, Farf could take us out in one shot. Besides, I don't need Brad being smarmy about me supposedly needing him to heal. I don't think he's gonna get his head out of his ass in time.

"Good point about the buildings, but try to get closer. Don't tell Crawford it's to heal. Tell him it's to cut down on the commute or something. Or y'know, manage on your own and be healed before he gets his head out of his ass. Just don't deny yourself things you need if you can have it." A plate full of perfectly browned, fluffy omelette floats over to Schu. Nagi starts making his own.

Nagi's brain seems to be flipping back forth between being a bitchy little thing and wanting to snuggle the hell out of Schu.

I'm not moving again. I just got settled. It would have to be Crawford... and he would probably be an ass about it. Maybe I can put subtle feelers out about it though.

I'm not much about denying myself things.

Nagi uses his telekinesis to ruffle Schu's hair. "I just really hate it when my people are messed up, okay?" Nagi's not really connecting his moodswings to the strained mindlinks and stuff he's got. He's usually a bitchy little thing in his own eyes.

"No more than usual, I guess. It just pisses me off that the Farf in the Nexus decided to go all extreme-asshole on top of my Farf leaving, I guess." And Nagi isn't worried about Yohji. Nope, not at all.

"And you're hurting. I should probably be closing that out, but I..." Yeah, Nagi doesn't want too look all that closely at the reasons for not blocking Schu. They're schmoopy reasons.

Nagi moves his meal off the fire and snuggles Schu. "A lot of what I know about telepathy I don't really know on a conscious level. It feels like a bad decision to block you out. It feels like a bad idea to be away from you." And it also hurts and makes Nagi feel more schmoopy than he's really okay with.
