Everybody scheming against everyone else, everyone cutthroat, everyone too paranoid to report what happened to them or compare notes. It's thinking like that that helped us bring the whole organization down. It was very useful.

"It really is. Of course, a large amount of this is just amusing myself. The grudges I'm settling right now are minor ones. There's one I intend to settle quite directly, which means it will have to wait until just barely before the ritual."

Of course. You don't want anyone to get too suspicious.

Ach, it pains me that we were so busy in Japan that I didn't get a chance to settle any scores before we brought the elders down.

I've actually done that in some realities. It's fun but not as satisfying as taking out the actual people from my own.

The sarcasm is his tone is slightly at odds with the ripple of amusement in his mind.

I am. I don't know where I get my reputation from. ::smile:: I'm such a humanitarian that it even does me good to hear about you spreading that personalized touch in your own reality. I want to help people I don't even know on to their final reward.

::smirk:: Why, thank you. I have to keep myself pretty for the masses. After a summer in London I was getting that living-in-a-basement pallor. Besides, everything needs a chance to breathe once in a while, right?
